Béatrice Martin's teaching

Dedicated to the teaching of Early Music, Béatrice Martin currently holds the post of harpsichord professor at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève, the Juilliard School in New York, the Paris Regional Conservatoire and the Pôle Supérieur Paris Boulogne-Billancourt.

Béatrice Martin received a Certificat d’Aptitude in 1998 and has taught continuously since earning this teaching diploma.

At the Paris Conservatoire she was the assistant to Christophe Rousset and the accompanist for the Early Music programme. She also served as voice coach in the department of Early Music at the Toulouse Regional Conservatoire and at the music school of Notre-Dame de Paris.

In 2001, she set up a harpsichord programme at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona, remaining in this post until 2014.
She joined the faculty of the prestigious Juilliard School in 2015 in New York.
Equally sought after in France, she took over Noëlle Spieth’s workshop at the Paris Regional Conservatoire and at the Pôle Supérieur Paris Boulogne- Billancourt in 2018.

In September 2022, Béatrice Martin joined the Early Music Department of the Haute École de Musique de Genève to teach both harpsichord and chamber music.

Further teaching projects include:

  • Master classes at the Paris Conservatoire, the Estonian Academy of Music in Tallinn, the Janáček Academy in Brno, the Escola de musica de El Escorial, and the Biblioteca Miguel Lerdo de Tejada in Mexico City…
  • Stages and academies : Académie de Sablé (2016-2017), Académie Baroque de Fontevraud (2018), Julliard at the Piccola Accademia Montisi (2019), Akademy Versailles Prague (2019), Sesja, Muzyka Klawesynowa, Warsaw (2019), Académie Baroque d’Amilly (2021), and the Vác Early Music Days Festival (2022)
  • At the invitation of Lars Ulrik Mortensen, she also taught at the audition courses of the European Union Baroque Orchestra (Echternach) and at the EUBO Summer Academy, Antwerp (2018).

Béatrice Martin has served as a jury member for MAfestival Bruges harpsichord competition (2010-2015) and the Concorso Internazionale di Clavicembalo, Bologna (2019).
